| Seller Comments: This 67 911S, was originally owned by Joe Vittone, the president of EMPI, an after market products company in Riverside Calif.. As a way of marketing his products, Vittone fitted out the motor with his big bore aluminum pistons and cylinders. In 1969, as a performance marketing promotion, Bob Bondourant was asked to put the car through it paces at Riverside Raceway. (See attached article and photos) In 1997, 28 years later, the car was restored and race prepared by Werks II and me, the cars third owner to race in VARA, the Vintage Auto Racing Association’s West coast events. During restoration / race prep, it was important to me to keep the car as original and as representative of vintage as possible. The original dash and interior are still in the car. Fiberglass doors, hood, rear deck and windows replaced the original equipment, but all those parts that were removed, including the original case, are still in my possession should the new owner wish to convert this car back to a street legal R-Group car. This car was featured in Excellence Magazine in August of 1997, and again in August of 2002. The car has raced in VARA events for 10 of the last 12 years, receiving class championships in 1998 and 2001. Log book information that details the cars race history is available and could be provided for a serious buyer.
